Health Dept. does about-face on Heavy Metal potty 🚽
Some big name spots around Philadelphia were shut down by the health department this week, as inspectors have gone on a late-summer tear around town.
The big one was Victory Brewing Company on the Ben Franklin Parkway, shut down for one of the nastiest inspections you’ll see — live rodents and bugs in the bar area in the middle of the day, bad food storage, and a lot more. It’s the kind of stuff you read in an inspection report that makes your skin crawl at best and makes you very sick at worst.
But … that’s not South Philly, so we won’t concern ourselves there.
Luckily, for our friends at Heavy Metal Sausage Company on Porter Street, there was nothing quite that bad in their inspection report from August 21, but one item has forced them to make a major change to their business — at least for now.
