📸 Speed cameras coming to Broad Street 🍻 New name for Xfinity Live 🏃‍♂️ Philly 10K to close roads

📸 Finally, calmer traffic on Broad?

The City of Philadelphia and the PPA announced this week that they will be installing speed cameras all along Broad Street, similar to the ones they’ve installed along the Boulevard in the Northeast. Those cameras have worked tremendously well up there, quieting traffic and reducing fatalities on what was previously the most dangerous road in the city and maybe the state.

That crown now goes to Broad Street — mostly North Broad, but two people have been killed by drivers along South Broad in 2025 too. One death occurred when a pedestrian was hit in the crosswalk by a driver near Oregon Avenue in April — they later died in July. Another occurred near Snyder in July when an e-scooter rider was hit by a driver.
